Tube and pipe processing has its own equipment category because round and rectangular hollow sections behave differently under a cutting head than flat plate — the material rotates, geometry changes constantly along the cut path, and bevels for welding have to follow a curved edge rather than a straight line. Purpose-built tube lasers and rotary plasma cutters handle this with a rotating chuck axis synchronized to the cutting head, letting a single machine cut round tube, square tube and structural hollow sections without refixturing. PCL's tube and pipe range covers everything from compact laser tube cutters for architectural handrail work up to large-diameter rotary plasma systems for oil, gas and petrochemical piping. As pipeline and process-plant construction continues globally, demand is shifting toward larger diameters and thicker wall pressure-vessel-grade material, which is where PCL's heavier rotary platforms are positioned.
